Background:

Born in Okinawa, Masamuni grew up in a stable household in NeoTokyo starting from the age of eight. His mother, Kinoshita Yuna, was a mathematician who worked for YureiCo. His father, Kinoshita Gendo, was the head of corporate security at YureiCo. Masamuni lived a normal life and followed his parent’s footsteps — first by graduating from his mother’s alma mater, Tokyo Technical University, with a mechanical engineering degree and then joining his father’s old unit in the Japanese National Defense Force.

After rising through the ranks as an officer, Masamuni was involved in a terrorist explosion at a forward base off the coast of China on a disputed island. The terrorists were local Chinese fishermen who were caught and executed.

Masamuni was fitted with top of the line cyberized prosthetics. He then went to work for YureiCo as a mediator, which was code for a corporate assassin. His father and uncle trained him in multiple forms of combat, but he had a natural instinct for sharpshooting over long distances. He rose to become their top outsourced operative.

Not much is known past this point. Masamuni was implicated in numerous assassinations but was never caught. No evidence tied him back to his contracts.

His father, uncle, and mother were killed by a poison gas attack on the corporate headquarters. His current boss is only known by the nickname Gashadokuro, which is the name of a 28 meter (90-foot) tall blood-drinking skeleton made out of the bones of people who starved to death. It’s been reported he has personally killed over four thousand individuals with his blade, an original Nanometer Sword, sharp enough to slice through steel beams.

Additional Family History:

The Kinoshita family name can be traced back to the Edo period of Japan. Masamuni is proud of his family heritage and is dedicated to being an honorable individual.
