How We Use AI
Our short answer
Yes, we use AI. All of the art we make combines AI-modified stock imagery and fully AI-generated imagery, then a human designer selects, edits, composes and finishes it. We tell every client this before work begins.
How the process works
AI-modified stock
We start from licensed stock images and change them with AI tools: extending backgrounds, changing lighting, adding or removing elements, or restyling them to match your genre.
Fully AI-generated art
Some images are generated from scratch with AI image tools, guided by your story, references and art direction.
Human finishing
Every piece is reviewed, edited and composed by a person. Typography, layout, colour, cleanup and final file preparation are done by hand.
What this means for you
- Some retailers, contests, awards and publishers have rules about AI-generated art. Check the rules that matter to you before you commission work, and tell us so we can plan around them.
- Copyright protection for AI-generated material is limited and still changing. See our licensing and usage rights guide.
- We never use real people’s likenesses or other artists’ names in prompts to copy a living artist’s style.
- We do not use your manuscript or private files to train AI models.
